Anchorage Digital partnered with Standard Chartered to offer USD accounts and SWIFT access to international institutional clients.
The service is available to eligible clients onboarded through Anchorage Digital Singapore, with 24/7 settlement via Standard Chartered Singapore.
The bundle includes named virtual accounts with unique routing details and the Atlas settlement network.
CEO Nathan McCauley said businesses should not choose between digital asset speed and traditional banking reliability.
Anchorage Digital has expanded its banking services for international institutional clients through a partnership with Standard Chartered, adding USD accounts and SWIFT payment access to its existing crypto custody and trading platform.
Eligible clients onboarded through Anchorage Digital Singapore can now hold US dollars, send and receive international wires, and move funds to and from third parties through Standard Chartered's banking infrastructure. The offering also provides 24/7 settlement with counterparties that bank with Standard Chartered Singapore, including weekends and holidays.
What does the partnership change operationally?
The expansion consolidates fiat and digital asset operations onto a single platform, removing the need for institutions to maintain separate providers for banking, custody, trading and settlement. The service bundle includes:
- Institutional USD accounts
- Named virtual accounts with unique routing details
- SWIFT transfers
- Access to Anchorage Digital's Atlas settlement network
- The firm's digital asset custody and trading services
Anchorage Digital said the service targets global trading firms, crypto exchanges, protocols, neobanks, banks, asset managers, family offices and corporates operating across multiple markets.
Why Singapore and Asia Pacific?
The move expands Anchorage Digital's footprint in Asia Pacific, a region where the company said institutional demand for digital asset infrastructure continues to grow. Routing the service through Anchorage Digital Singapore and Standard Chartered Singapore ties the offering to the city-state's regulatory perimeter for institutional digital asset activity.
"Global businesses should not have to choose between the speed of digital assets and the reliability of traditional banking rails," Anchorage Digital CEO and co-founder Nathan McCauley said.
Standard Chartered's Global Head of Fintech, Luke Boland, framed the arrangement as a combination of the bank's payments and risk infrastructure with Anchorage Digital's regulated platform. He said the partnership makes it easier for institutional firms to manage fiat and digital assets across borders.
What are the business consequences?
For institutional clients, the operational impact centers on settlement continuity. Traditional banking rails close on weekends and holidays, creating gaps for firms that trade digital assets around the clock. Anchorage's offering addresses that mismatch by extending settlement with Standard Chartered Singapore counterparties to continuous availability.
For Anchorage Digital, the partnership deepens its value proposition beyond custody and trading into payment infrastructure — a shift that positions the firm to capture more of the institutional transaction flow between fiat and digital assets.
For Standard Chartered, the deal extends its fintech banking franchise into regulated digital asset infrastructure, aligning with its broader push into crypto-adjacent services through partnerships rather than direct product builds.
Anchorage Digital said its broader goal is to consolidate payments, custody, trading and settlement into a single institutional platform as traditional banking rails and blockchain infrastructure increasingly converge. The rollout follows a growing pattern among regulated crypto firms: embedding banking functionality directly into digital asset platforms to keep institutional capital within one operational perimeter. Expect further integrations of this kind as banks and crypto infrastructure providers continue pairing payments rails with regulated custody.
