BNB Chain's AvengerDAO Security Marketplace has grown from 11 to 17 vetted security firms, adding six new providers roughly two months after its August 12 launch.
The marketplace connects developers building on BNB Chain with pre-screened security firms. Its most operationally significant feature is its no-application model: projects can engage directly with any listed firm without submitting a prior application, which lowers the barrier for smaller teams that lack the resources for a formal procurement process.
The marketplace also incorporates bug bounty support, paying outside researchers to surface vulnerabilities before attackers can exploit them.
What is the BNB-SS standard?
Alongside the marketplace expansion, AvengerDAO has introduced the BNB-SS security standard. The framework is built around five pillars, including governance and oracle integrations among other areas.
Governance covers how a protocol makes decisions and who controls the administrative keys capable of changing protocol parameters. Oracles are the external data feeds that bring off-chain information, such as asset prices, onto the blockchain. Both vectors have historically featured in some of the largest DeFi exploits, which makes their formal inclusion in a chain-level standard notable.
How long has AvengerDAO operated?
AvengerDAO is not a new initiative. It launched on September 20, 2022 as part of BNB Chain's broader effort to protect users against exploits and scams. CertiK, SlowMist and PancakeSwap were among its early partners.
The initiative's risk APIs issued 38 million warnings in 2025 alone, according to research findings accompanying the announcement, indicating substantial on-chain monitoring activity across the ecosystem.
What do the loss numbers show?
The research data points to three consecutive years of declining security losses on BNB Chain:
- Losses fell 85% in 2023
- Losses dropped 69% in 2024
- Losses declined 56% in 2025
The research frames the sustained declines as a potential confidence boost for projects associated with AvengerDAO and as a factor that could make BNB Chain-based projects more attractive to investors. Causation is harder to establish than correlation — the broader decline in exploit activity across the industry during these years likely contributed — but the trajectory is consistent with the initiative's stated mandate.
What does this mean for builders?
For developers, the immediate consequence is choice. A pool of 17 vetted firms improves the odds of finding an auditor with the right specialty, availability and price point, which matters in a market where audit queues can stretch for weeks and specialized expertise in areas like oracle security remains scarce.
The no-application model compresses the time between a project's decision to seek an audit and engagement with a provider, a meaningful operational change for teams racing to deploy.
Whether the expansion translates into a further reduction in losses will become visible in AvengerDAO's 2026 monitoring data, as the marketplace's first full year of operation coincides with a maturing audit market on BNB Chain.
