Centrifuge's deSPXA Token Accepted as Collateral on Hyperdrive's Base Lending Market

Hyperdrive has added Centrifuge's deSPXA token as collateral on its Base lending market, letting eligible non-US users borrow USDC against S&P 500 exposure at sub-1% APR. Early TVL sits near $15.9K.

Outputs

  1. deSPXA accepted as collateral on Hyperdrive's Base lending market as of September 29, 2026

  2. Borrowing cost promoted below 1% APR as of early October 2026

  3. Dedicated Hyperdrive deSPXA vault held approximately $15.9K in TVL as of September 26, 2026

  4. Hyperdrive offered 50K USDC in lender incentives spread over six months

  5. deSPXA carries a 77% loan-to-value ratio on Morpho and trades on Aerodrome on Base

Hyperdrive has added Centrifuge's deSPXA token as collateral on a dedicated real-world asset lending market on Base, the Ethereum layer-2 network incubated by Coinbase. The integration lets eligible non-US users deposit tokenized S&P 500 exposure and borrow USDC against it, according to protocol documentation and a Hyperdrive announcement dated September 29, 2026.

deSPXA represents claims on the Janus Henderson Anemoy S&P 500 Index Fund, which trades under the ticker SPXA. It was the first product launched under Centrifuge's deRWA tokenization framework, debuting on Base on or around March 30, 2026.

What does the lending setup look like?

Hyperdrive built the new market specifically for tokenized real-world assets. Pricing runs on a redemption-based model tied to net asset value rather than order-book depth, a design the protocol says aims to reduce the liquidation risk typical of standard DeFi collateralization.

Key parameters disclosed at launch:

  • Borrowing cost promoted below 1% APR for USDC loans backed by deSPXA as of early October 2026
  • 50,000 USDC in lender incentives spread over six months
  • Loan-to-value ratio for deSPXA on Morpho, where the token is already supported, sits at 77%

How big is the market so far?

Early liquidity is thin. A dedicated Hyperdrive deSPXA vault on Base held approximately $15.9K in total value locked as of September 26, 2026, with the vault's share token priced near 1.004 USDC.

deSPXA has a broader footprint outside Hyperdrive. The token trades on Aerodrome, a decentralized exchange on Base, and has recorded multi-million-dollar quarterly trading volumes despite a relatively low market cap. Centrifuge has positioned itself as a leading tokenization issuer on Base following a strategic investment from Coinbase that has supported infrastructure buildout in the ecosystem.

What does this mean for tokenized equities?

With the Hyperdrive integration, deSPXA can now be traded on Aerodrome, lent on Morpho, and borrowed against on Hyperdrive, giving the token a three-venue presence across Base.

The geographic constraint is equally material. ACcess is restricted to eligible non-US users, cutting out the very market the S&P 500 tracks. Whether the 50,000 USDC lender incentive can build supply fast enough to absorb borrower demand will determine whether the vault scales beyond its current five-figure TVL.

Hyperdrive's incentive window runs six months from the September 29 launch, giving an early read on whether NAV-based collateral frameworks can attract meaningful capital to onchain S&P 500 exposure.
