Evernorth Puts $648 Million XRP Treasury to Work With Ripple, Kraken, Coinbase, BitGo
Evernorth has tapped Ripple, Kraken, Coinbase and BitGo to deploy a $648 million XRP treasury, one of the largest corporate mandates of its kind disclosed to date.

Evernorth disclosed a $648 million XRP treasury mandate.
Ripple, Kraken, Coinbase and BitGo were named as partners to deploy the holdings.

Fee structures and deployment strategies were not disclosed in the announcement.
Evernorth has enlisted Ripple, Kraken, Coinbase and BitGo to deploy a $648 million XRP treasury, according to the company's announcement, in one of the largest corporate XRP management mandates disclosed to date.
The arrangement hands each of the four firms a role in putting the treasury's holdings to productive use rather than leaving them idle on a balance sheet. Ripple, the company most closely associated with the XRP ledger, joins three US-regulated venues — the Kraken and Coinbase exchanges and the custodian BitGo — in the mandate.
Who does what in the $648 million setup?
The disclosure names the participants and the size of the pool, but leaves the division of labor between them open to interpretation from their known businesses:
- Ripple — issuer-adjacent counterparty with the deepest XRP market experience;
- Kraken and Coinbase — regulated exchanges likely to provide liquidity, lending or yield-generating venues;
- BitGo — qualified custodian, a natural home for treasury segregation and safekeeping.
The $648 million figure marks the treasury as a material position in the XRP market, and the choice of counterparties signals Evernorth wants institutional-grade infrastructure — exchange liquidity plus qualified custody — rather than a single-vendor arrangement.
Why pair an exchange with a custodian?
Splitting a mandate this size across four firms does two things at once. It spreads counterparty risk, a lesson corporate treasurers took from the 2022 and 2023 platform failures, and it gives Evernorth multiple routes to liquidity.
Coinbase and BitGo in particular have spent the past two years courting corporate and institutional digital-asset mandates, with custody built around segregated, bankruptcy-remote structures. Adding two exchanges suggests part of the treasury is intended for active deployment — trading, lending or collateral use — rather than pure storage.
What it means for corporate XRP treasuries
Corporate treasuries holding major tokens have mostly sat on their positions while waiting for regulatory clarity. A mandate that explicitly puts a $648 million XRP pool "to work" signals that companies with large crypto holdings are now looking for yield and operational utility, not just price exposure.
Ripple's involvement is notable. The company has ongoing institutional relationships around XRP liquidity, and its participation in a third-party treasury mandate suggests it is expanding beyond its core payments business into asset-management-adjacent services.
Neither Evernorth nor the four firms disclosed fee structures, mandate duration or specific deployment strategies in the announcement. The parties have not said whether the treasury's activities will be reported on-chain or through periodic disclosures.
How the $648 million is actually deployed — and what yield it generates — will set a template other corporate XRP holders are likely to watch closely.
