U.S. spot Bitcoin ETFs took in $134.5 million Friday, extending a seven-day inflow streak worth about $2.98 billion that began Sept. 17, per Decrypt's tracker.
Year-to-date 2026 flows turned positive at $886.8 million through Thursday, per Farside Investors, a roughly $6.6 billion swing from the $5.69 billion net outflow position on July 13.
The streak follows $746.3 million in combined outflows on Sept. 15–16 after the Senate's failed cloture vote on the Clarity Act; Sept. 21 saw nearly $1 billion in inflows, the best day since October 2025.
U.S. spot Bitcoin ETFs recorded $134.5 million in net inflows on Friday, extending a seven-trading-day streak that has absorbed roughly $2.98 billion since Sept. 17, according to Decrypt's Bitcoin ETF tracker. The run has flipped year-to-date flows positive at $886.8 million through Thursday, per Farside Investors data — a reversal from the $5.69 billion net outflow position the funds carried as recently as July 13.
The turnaround follows a brief but sharp drawdown in mid-September tied to Capitol Hill. On Sept. 15, the day after the Senate's failed cloture vote on the Clarity Act, the funds shed $450.4 million — their worst single-session outflow since June. Another $295.9 million followed on Sept. 16. Inflows since then have outpaced those combined losses roughly fourfold.
Sept. 21 marked the streak's high-water mark, with the funds pulling in nearly $1 billion, their strongest day since October 2025. That surge, as Decrypt reported Tuesday, lifted Bitcoin above the average ETF holder's cost basis of $81,722 — an estimate from Bloomberg analyst James Seyffart — returning the typical fund investor to profit for the first time since January.
The flow data matters beyond daily sentiment reading. Spot Bitcoin ETFs hold actual Bitcoin and give investors exposure through ordinary brokerage accounts, bypassing crypto exchanges, wallets and seed phrases entirely. Daily creations and redemptions have become a widely tracked proxy for institutional demand, which makes the swing from a $746.3 million two-day bleed to a $2.98 billion accumulation run one of the cleader signals of positioning change this quarter.
The scoreboard for 2026 has been rewritten accordingly. Through Thursday, the funds had drawn a net $886.8 million for the year, per Farside — roughly a $6.6 billion swing from the July 13 trough. Friday's inflow pushes the total past $1 billion, though tallies differ by tracker: Bloomberg put year-to-date flows at approximately $320 million earlier this week.
Aggregate figures point to a maturing vehicle. Cumulative net inflows since the funds launched now stand at $58.0 billion, per Decrypt's tracker, with total net assets of $108.42 billion and Bitcoin trading around $84,020.
The gap to last year remains substantial. The funds drew $21.35 billion in net inflows over the full prior year, according to Farside. Matching that run rate would require roughly $300 million per day through December — a pace the current streak has comfortably exceeded on average, but one that demands sustained institutional commitment rather than a single reflexive rebound off legislative disappointment.
Whether the streak holds depends on how the Clarity Act's legislative prospects evolve and whether allocator demand persists now that the average holder sits above cost basis. For now, the flow channel that went negative on a Senate procedural vote has flipped decisively — and the year's net ledger with it.
