Taiwan's MAX Exchange Adds Native Aptos USDT for TWD Conversions
MAX, Taiwan's largest TWD crypto exchange, launched native Aptos USDT deposits and withdrawals on September 29, with HYPE, GRAM, APT and RENDER pairs opening September 30.
Outputs
MAX Digital Asset Exchange launched native Tether USDT support on Aptos on September 29, with trading pairs opening September 30 at 15:00 GMT+8.
The integration lets users convert TWD directly to Aptos-native USDT with no wrapped assets or cross-chain bridges involved.
Tether began minting USDT natively on Aptos in late 2024; Binance and Bithumb have since added support, with MAX now extending it to Taiwan.
MAX Digital Asset Exchange, the MaiCoin Group-operated platform that leads Taiwan's TWD-denominated crypto trading market, has launched support for native Tether USDT on the Aptos blockchain. Deposits and withdrawals went live on September 29, with new trading pairs scheduled to open on September 30 at 15:00 GMT+8.
The integration covers both on-ramp and off-ramp functionality. Users can deposit Taiwanese dollars, purchase USDT that lives natively on Aptos, and withdraw it to an Aptos wallet. The reverse flow works as well. The setup involves no wrapped assets and no cross-chain bridges acting as intermediaries, which removes a layer of counterparty and smart-contract risk that has historically accompanied bridged stablecoin transfers.
Alongside the Aptos USDT support, MAX is listing several new trading pairs. HYPE, GRAM, APT, and RENDER are all scheduled to go live for trading on September 30, according to the exchange's announcement.
MAX flagged one operational caveat for users: deposits require selecting the correct Aptos network at initiation. Sending tokens on the wrong network can result in permanent asset loss, a known failure mode across exchanges that support the same asset on multiple chains.
Why Native Issuance Matters
Native USDT is issued directly by Tether on the target blockchain rather than arriving via a bridge or wrapped representation. Aptos received this treatment in late 2024, when Tether began minting USDT natively on the network. Since then, major exchanges including Binance and Bithumb have added support for Aptos-native USDT, and MAX now extends that list into the Taiwanese market.
For Tether, each additional venue for Aptos-native issuance deepens the token's liquidity footprint on a chain that has positioned itself as a high-throughput alternative for payments and on-chain settlement. For Aptos, exchange support at fiat gateways matters more than listings on global venues, because it gives retail users a direct path from local currency to the chain without intermediary infrastructure.
Taiwan's Market Structure
In Taiwan, TWD-denominated trading pairs serve a different function than they might in larger markets. The Taiwanese dollar lacks the global exchange support enjoyed by the US dollar, euro, or Japanese yen, so local platforms like MAX fill a critical gap between domestic banking rails and dollar-based crypto liquidity.
MaiCoin Group has positioned MAX as a compliance-focused platform in a region where regulatory frameworks around digital assets continue to develop. The group also issues its own utility token, MAX, which provides trading fee discounts on the platform.
The new trading pairs open September 30 at 15:00 GMT+8, giving Taiwanese traders their first direct TWD-to-Aptos-native-USDT route without bridged tokens in the flow.
